Detroit has such a rich history of music and art, so what better way to pay homage than a three-day festival devoted to electronica and techno? Join the Movement Electronic Music Festival on their 10th anniversary, May 28-30 in Hart Plaza!
Get ready to move at event which combines the rich electronic and techno music history of Detroit with the modern and diverse artists who perform at the festival. Celebrating 10 years of production, Movement is incorporating new and exciting features that make the overall Detroit experience fun, safe and easy.

Artists That’ll Make You Move
Whether you’re an experienced Detroiter or new to the Movement Festival-scene, one thing seems to stay consistent in the festival’s 10 years of performances, and that’s the hip new artists they attract.
Located on the main stage are headliners Kraftwerk, Dubfire, and Modeselektor.
With six stages jam-packed with an exciting artist lineup, this year’s Movement is shaping up to be an eventful experience.

Opportunity Detroit Stage
The Opportunity Detroit stage is located just left to the main entrance and features Detroit Institute of Music (DIME) artists such as Murder House Party and DJ Holographic. Stop by and support our local artists!
Give a Beat Bar
The greatest opportunities are always those that give back to our community. Give A Beat Foundation is proud to be a partner with Movement Music for the last six years and this year they’ll be working the bar at the Opportunity Detroit stage.
Their main objective is to “provide music lovers a unique channel for activism and philanthropy through affecting change in the face of inequality.”
All tip proceeds from this bar will benefit mentorship programs for On A New Track, a program that reaches out to communities, targeting youth through education programs and safe community outlets.
Give A Beat will also host interactive games with Movement artists.

Relax and Rejuvenate
Partying can really take a lot out of you! Luckily, Movement has partnered with local businesses to provide a relaxing environment for festivalgoers.
Led by Detroit Yoga Lab, sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. and offer yoga mats provided by Lululemon. Don’t forget to stretch!
For those eco-friendly festival guests, Wheelhouse Detroit will be hosting onsite bike valet, allowing Movement-goers to secure their bike for free. With an offer this great, help keep our earth clean by using alternative transportation to get to the festival.
Salads and sandwiches and smoothies, oh my! These are just a few of the healthy food choices available from vendors onsite.
Want something different? Several local restaurants in the downtown area are offering Movement attendees a 10% discount for showing their festival wristband.

Keep the party going with these events happening before, during, or after the Movement Festival:
On May 27 at 9 p.m., the Official Movement Opening Party, featuring Danny Tenaglia and located at the Poplux, is sure to be a fun kick-off for the festival. Be sure to check it out.
The Official Movement Closing Party is on May 30 at 11 p.m. and will feature the AME DJ set along with Keith Kemp. What better way to close out a fun weekend than the ultimate after party located at The Masonic Temple in the Fountain Ballroom. Purchase your tickets here.
