When the sun goes down, the good times roll in Detroit’s party town, Greektown!
Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m., Greektown transforms from Monroe Street to a walkable, interactive plaza full of performers, entertainment, live music, and art. The best part: it’s free!
With so many opportunities to party downtown, we have the live music lineup, entertainment list, and information on all the restaurants to help you make the most of every weekend.
Preserving the Past
President of the Greektown Preservation Society Tasso Teftsis is proud to coordinate this event for the second year in a row.
What began as a dream, turned into a reality that exceeded all expectations, bringing crowds of hip-new artists, eager media reporters, and people from all walks of life.
Drawing thousands of guests into the historic streets, Greektown at Sundown brings more than an increased energy and revenue to the city; it pays homage to one of Detroit’s most treasured and historical locations.
Good Eats on the Streets
Every weekend, visitors will be able to enjoy al fresco-style dining on side street patios from several restaurants like Astoria Pastry Shop, Cold Stone Creamery, Golden Fleece, and many more!
Why wait ‘til the weekend? Get the party started every Thursday night from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. as participating locations will host Happy Hour Specials including $3 drinks and $5 food items.
Getting Down at Greektown
Live Music performers will serenade the guests of Greektown from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. every weekend with a new artist at each event.
The music is mainly acoustic and features everything from violinists to guitarists, providing a variety of genres for the audience to enjoy.
Performance lineups can be viewed on Greektown’s website.
Interactive art will also fill the streets featuring caricature artists, stencil art, interactive collages, and paining by numbers.
Don’t forget about the strolling Cirque performers! Fire breathers, juggling, and plate spinning are just a few of the many amazing acts you’ll see on the street.
