Introducing the DetroitCity App, Presented by Opportunity Detroit

The DetroitCity App, powered by Guidesmob and presented by Opportunity Detroit, opens up a gateway for both learning and exploring the city of Detroit. The app, available for iOS, provides you with an interactive guide to businesses, organizations and events around Detroit, whether you’re a current resident, a commuter or a welcomed visitor. The DetroitCity App

  • Helps you discover bars, restaurants, hidden gems and happy hour deals
  • Saves you time and money by helping you figure out where to park
  • Guides you to the services you need with maps and directions to every single business in Detroit
  • Keeps you up to date with a city feed that features happenings, announcements and business updates around the city

You have the ability to plan your entire evening with the DetroitCity App. For example, let’s say it’s date night, and you’ve been tasked with coming up with the entire itinerary for the evening. Lots of pressure, right? Wrong!

detroitcity6After opening up the app, you’re greeted with a quick list of can’t-miss events. This could be a great resource if you’re looking for concerts, festivals or other out-of-the-ordinary date night ideas. If an event strikes your fancy, select it for more details that will open in your browser.

If you’re more interested in finding a great restaurant, hop into the Food & Drink category to see a list of restaurants broken down by type of cuisine. Everything you need to know about your restaurant of choice is right there in the app, from ratings, to location, to business hours, to reviews. You even have the option to call the restaurant right from the app. Time saver!

Looking for an ATM or other service? You can find that from the app too! The Places section can help you hash out the details with categories for ATMs and other services such as dry cleaners, flower shops and salons/barbershops.

Now there’s one last detail to figure out: transportation. This app makes parkinga breeze. A parking map includes information about restrictions and parking fees. Not driving? The Transportation section includes a map of People Mover stops, shuttle information and taxi numbers for a safe ride home.

No matter what you’re in the mood for, the DetroitCity App opens a new door to experience living, working and playing as a Detroiter. Download the app now in the iTunes store! (An Android version of the app is in the works and will be available soon.)

    1. Hey Stephanie,

If your business is on Foursquare it should be getting pulled into this app. Can you please confirm if it is?
