The Night Market is back at Beacon Park every Saturday this summer from 7 p.m. until midnight. Support local entrepreneurs by shopping the open-air market filled with handmade jewelry, t-shirts and more from artists and small businesses in Detroit. Along with after-hours shopping, this free event includes cuisine from local food trucks, live music and a cash bar from Beacon Park’s flagship restaurant, Lumen. The Night Market is open to the public and is sponsored by DTE Energy Beacon Park Detroit Foundation and programmed by Downtown Detroit Partnership.
In July 2017, DTE Energy transformed the once-empty triangle lot into a 1.2-acre, multiuse park for Detroit residents and visitors alike. Beacon Park features a circular open lawn space that is anchored by Lumen, an eco-friendly restaurant featuring al fresco dining and garden rooftop views of the city skyline. True to its name, the park fulfills its mission to “bring light, energy and motion to west central downtown” Detroit by hosting year-round events, festivals, and interactive art and light installations. The Night Market is just one of many free events the park is hosting this summer.
This is the third year for the Night Market. Beacon Park originally hosted Detroit’s first nighttime market during the park’s opening season. The market returned to the delight of many in 2018.
Stop by the Night Market at Beacon Park, located at Cass Avenue and Grand River Avenue, from now until August 25.
