The guys were back at it in September with more great guests and more great Detroit developments! Tune in to hear Paul W. Smith (WJR) and Stephen Luigi Piazza (Quicken Loans) on the Opportunity Detroit radio show on WJR-760 AM every Friday night! You’ll be enlightened by what you learn about the Motor City.
Here are just a few of the topics and guests featured in September:
Want to watch the news while on the street in downtown Detroit? You’ll soon be able to, since WXYZ-TV/Channel 7 is opening a downtown studio in the Chase Tower, at 611 Woodward Avenue. Passersby in Campus Martius will be able to be a part of the media action! The studio will open later this fall and will feature the noon broadcast with JoAnne Purtan, and will also be used for other WXYZ-TV and TV20 broadcasts.
Do you like pie? If so, you’ll love Sister Pie, which is a local bakery co-owned by Lisa Ludwinski. Sister Pie is operating out of the Hannan House in Midtown and will soon be moving to its own location, 8066 Kercheval Street. Sister Pie recently was awarded $50,000 as the winner of Hatch Detroit’s 2014 contest, which provides local entrepreneurs with start-up funds. The company has been recognized for its Buckwheat Chocolate Chip Cookie, which was voted the “Best Cookie in Detroit.” To learn more, visit SisterPie.com.
