Rockin’ on the Riverfront Is Your Cure for the Summertime Blues

Do you love Rock n’ Roll? The 13th annual Chevrolet Rockin’ on the Riverfront concert series is right around the corner and is great for the whole family to learn about these musical legends.

This FREE summer concert series features performances from some legendary rockers of the past. Beginning July 13th and running each Friday through August 17th, groups such as War and Survivor will hit the stage for an audience of all ages. As an added bonus, local bands, The Incurables, Artificial Agent, Slowfoot, SuckerPunch Detroit, Rock N Roll Never Forgets as well as Second Wind, will perform as opening acts for the concert series.

Happening at the GM Plaza, just behind the GM Renaissance Center (100 Renaissance Center), the Friday summer concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m. and run until 10:00 p.m. Performances are dependent on weather conditions and seating will be first come first served. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs because the seating directly in front of the stage will be reserved for VIP guests. While most people will be sitting in chairs, boat owners can cruise in to watch the concert from quite possibly the best seats in the house!

This year’s lineup can be seen below:

  • July 13: Vince Neil of Mötley Crüe
  • July 20: Uncle Kracker
  • July 27: John Kay and Steppenwolf
  • August 3: Starship featuring Mickey Thomas

  • August 17: War

Parking is available for $10 per vehicle after 5:00 p.m. in the GM surface lot adjacent to the RenCen at St. Antoine and Atwater, as well as other nearby parking decks (only credit cards are accepted).
