More than 2,000 attendees are expected at the seventh annual TEDxDetroit on October 8, 2015, and you can be one of them, as tickets are now available for the daylong event at the historic Fox Theatre.
Since TED stands for technology, entertainment and design, attendees will experience a business expo, art festival and tech conference all in one. TEDxDetroit is the Motor City’s independent version of the original TED, a nonprofit organization devoted to spreading ideas through short talks delivered by today’s thought leaders at the annual conference in Vancouver.
In 2009, the ‘x’ was added by cities that wanted to host a TED-like event to showcase entrepreneurs and artists in their own region. Detroit was one of the first cities to host a TEDx event, highlighting the entrepreneurial spirit that was sparking discussions about the future of the city.
Speakers (who will be announced in mid-September), will each have eight minutes to share an idea with the world. “TEDx brings seasoned pros and startup business leaders together to challenge the status quo and inspire each other. We’re looking forward to another rousing lineup for our talks this year,” said curator Charlie Wollborg.
Advance tickets for the event are available online for $85.
